When designing our collection of vases, our greatest inspiration were the colorful PRL vases. We wanted to smuggle in Polish heritage and combine it with modern design. Polish design in the 60s and 70s was in excellent shape, designers experimented with colors and forms. In Poland, artistic utility glass was produced, which was exported and extremely popular abroad. It was the creativity of those years that inspired us to use intense colors, such as orange and green, and characteristic air bubbles immersed in the glass. In the 70s, this effect was something extravagant and extremely modern, and today vintage PRL vases are breaking popularity records.
The vases available in the LEISURE online store were designed and manufactured in Poland. Each vase was hand-blown by qualified, Polish glassworkers with many years of experience. The vases available in our store are manufactured using a traditional, craft method, during which all stages of production are performed by hand. The process of creating a vase involves placing hot glass mass on one end of the glassworker\’s shaft and placing it in a wooden mold. The glassworker blows into the other end of the shaft, filling the glass and the mold with air. Thanks to this, the mass fills the mold, creating the desired shape of the product. The manual production process means that each vase will be slightly different from each other. Thanks to this, you can be sure that no one will have exactly the same product as you. The structure of the glass, the number of air bubbles embedded in the glass and the distribution of dyes will always be different. This gives the product an additional advantage and uniqueness.
